Please choose the correct size and style. For health and hygiene reasons, we don’t accept returns on opened packs. If you are unsure which dome you need, contact us, and we will check for you.
In most cases, simply choose the same style and size you wear now. If you currently use a Medium Vented Phonak 4.0 dome, a Medium Vented EasyGuard dome is the natural replacement. [CHECK sizes match 4.0] If you are changing style, check with your audiologist first, as a different dome can change how your hearing aid sounds.
Highly ventilated for a natural, open-ear feel. Best for mild to moderate high-frequency hearing loss where you want to hear low-pitched sounds naturally and avoid a blocked-ear sensation. Sizes: Small, Medium, Large.
The middle ground between open and closed. Small vents let air circulate and reduce the “boomy” sound of your own voice, while holding more amplification than an open dome. The most popular choice for mild to moderate hearing loss. Sizes: Small, Medium, Large.
A double-layer design that creates a tighter seal to reduce whistling (feedback) and support more low-frequency amplification. Designed for moderate to severe hearing loss. Five sizes – Small, Small/Medium, Medium, Medium/Large and Large – for a precise fit.
Earwax is the most common reason a hearing aid goes quiet or sounds muffled. Standard domes rely on a tiny wax filter at the tip of the receiver, and when that filter clogs the sound drops until it is cleaned or replaced.
Phonak EasyGuard domes add a sealed, sound-transmitting membrane across the dome opening. Wax and debris collect on the outside of the membrane before anything reaches the receiver, and you simply wipe it away with a dry cloth. Your CeruStop wax filter stays in place as a second line of defence, but it clogs far less often – so you need to replace filters less frequently.
Phonak’s data shows that wax and filter problems account for around 38% of hearing aid service cases (Phonak Field Study News – PDF Download), so this small innovation is an exciting change for everyday hearing aid care. [CHECK figure against PDF]
Never wear a dome that is torn or has a damaged membrane. If a dome comes off in your ear, don’t try to remove it with tools, contact your audiologist or book an appointment with Sound Hearing.

If earwax is a constant issue, our earwax removal service can also help.
Phonak EasyGuard domes are compatible with most Phonak receiver-in-canal hearing aids from Marvel onwards, including Paradise, Lumity and Infinio. They also work with Unitron Smile, Vivante, Blu, and Discover Next hearing aids. EasyGuard domes fit Standard (S), Medium (M) and Power (P) receivers – the same receivers as Phonak Domes 4.0. If you are unsure, check the receiver markings or contact us.
No. Keep your CeruStop filter fitted; the membrane catches most wax first, so the filter lasts much longer. You can buy CeruStop wax filters here when you need them.
Replace them roughly every 1 to 2 months, depending on how much earwax you produce. Replace a dome straight away if it is torn, discoloured or loose.
Gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. You do not need to remove the dome from the receiver to clean it.
The membrane is designed to be sound-transparent, so staying with the same style and size should sound the same. Switching style (for example, Open to Power) can change the sound, so speak to your audiologist first.
Unfortunately not – for hygiene reasons, opened domes are non-returnable. Unopened packs can be returned under our terms and conditions.
